The Norwegian OAG has assesed how the Ministry of Justice and Public Security has discharged its responsibility for effiecient case processing through developing and applying Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the criminal justice sector
- unclear management signals from the Ministry given to the subordinate sectors
- few concrete steps taken to achieve the objective of electronic coordination
- no overall plan for developement and operation of ICT management
- badly-designed system
- Time spent on recording reports and decisions without further prosecution process shows potential gain of 13-16 Full-Time Equivalents (FTE) for those actions
- Saving 3-5 minutes in 50 work processes in 150 000 cases could equal 280-460 FTEs
